Dr Frank Lucas - Chairman

was educated at Imperial College and Exeter University where he was awarded a PhD for his work on uranium and thorium geochemistry. He began his career in the City at David Williamson Associates prior to being appointed the development manager of the Roskill Consulting Group. In 1996 he co-founded Loeb Aron & Co, and has been a director since then.

Loeb Aron & Co has been involved in many succesful corporate transactions and over 100 financings predominantly in the resources and small company sector. He is a non-executive director of London Finance & Investment Group PLC - a company listed on the London Stock Exchange - and of Aeolian Power PLC.


Mr Mahesh Shah - Chief Executive Officer

was a founding director of Nucare plc, a company operating in the Pharmaceutical Sector. He became the Sales & Marketing Director in 2000 and was CEO from 2002-2009, growing the company organically as well as by joint ventures and acquisitions with operations in the UK as well as overseas.

He managed 250 employees and a wide shareholder base with over 700 shareholders. In November 2007 he led a successful trade sale for the company realising an enterprise value of approximately £70million.


Dr Adrian Woolfson - Non-Executive Director

studied medicine at Balliol College, Oxford and Gonville & Caius College, Cambridge, and worked as a doctoral student, Charles and Katharine Darwin Research Fellow, Wellcome Trust Research Fellow and National Federation of Cancer USA Fellow with Dr César Milstein at the Medical Research Council (MRC) Laboratory of Molecular Biology in Cambridge.

His research interests include alternative splicing, protein folding and proteomics. He was a founding member of ProteinLogic and co-inventor of the core patent.


Professor Herman Waldmann - Non-Executive Director

is Professor of Pathology, University of Oxford, Head of the Sir William Dunn School of Pathology, University of Oxford, Head of the Therapeutic Immunology Group, University of Oxford and a Senior Fellow at Lincoln College, Oxford.

His research interests include basic research into the mechanisms of immune tolerance and how these can be harnessed, using monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) and other modern biotherapeutics. His aim is to develop clinical treatments for human diseases that involve disregulation or inappropriate reactions of the immune system such as in autoimmunity or transplant rejection.


Dr Alex Betz - Non-Executive Director

is currently a Group Leader at the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology, Cambridge.

Dr Betz completed a PhD on the hypermutation of immunoglobulin genes at the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology, Cambridge. He has also worked in the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore USA. His research interests include the regulation of lymphocyte migration by chemokines.


Sir Gregory Winter - Specialist Advisor to the Board

is the joint Head of the Division of Protein and Nucleic Acid Chemistry at the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology, Cambridge, Deputy Director of the MRC Centre for Protein Engineering, Cambridge and is a fellow of Trinity College, Cambridge.

He founded two Cambridge-based biotechnology companies Cambridge Antibody Technology and Domantis.

His research interests include combinatorial proteins, vaccines and antibodies.
